The Lineup
A curated selection of winter films, screening one night only at First Tracks.
Combined runtime of all films is roughly 95 minutes.
The Chase
An East Coast ski film exploring relationships with others, ourselves, and the ever-changing winters. The film follows Blake Keogh, a backcountry athlete living in South Portland, Maine, who chases snow and solitude for an entire year — an intimate look at the intersection of skiing, mental health, and community. Blake’s 1971 Scotty camper serves as the winter base camp from which his search for connection, joy, and deep snow begins.
Get Lost - Find Yourself
Norwegian cold-water surfers explore the west coast of Norway in search of new waves — and ultimately find what they were looking for, and more.
Together Again
The story of a mother and daughter who continually choose joy in the face of grief, exhaustion, and uncertainty. After her daughter survives a nearly fatal traumatic brain injury, Rachael — inspired by a chance encounter with Maine Adaptive — teaches herself and her daughter to ski. More than 20 years later, skiing has become a shared language and lifelong connection for the family, one that’s led them to community, purpose, and a calling in helping others claim joy and independence.
Islyckan
Nordic skating is my passion. In the 2023–2024 season, I skated 10,000 km with my friend. This film tells the story of that season — and why Nordic skating means so much to me.
Wild Ride
A story about women who don’t hold back — gritty, hard-charging, and completely in their element. Sunny, Mo, and Galen lead the second annual Women’s Snowmobile Clinic, drawing riders from across Alaska to take control of their sleds and their confidence.
Robson
Two world-class ski mountaineers attempt a daring first descent of Mount Robson’s South Face, retracing the footsteps of alpine pioneers and carrying the weight of a legacy that has challenged generations.
